This study examines the performance and market share of vendors in the PC core logic chipset market during calendar year 2005. Overall unit and revenue market shares by vendor are included, as well as splits by PC form factor (desktop, mobile, and x86 server), processor vendor supported (Intel or AMD), and presence or absence of an integrated graphics controller. Vendors of non-PC chipsets (i.e., chipsets supporting RISC processors for Unix-based workstations and servers) are not covered in this study. Vendors of chipsets that are used in non-PC applications, such as thin clients or set-top boxes, are not covered in this study.
