Abstract:

Currently a tremendous amount of development activity is underway within the telecommunications industry, looking at what lies ahead for DSLAMs. The challenges of Integration for various multiplexers and gateways are taking place, giving way to the new service creation switches, which are not to unlike the multiservices DSLAM switching architecture. The future of DSLAM switches looks very promising with, gateways, and access devices culminating into one system that does it all. In the service creation systems, the service providers will have enormous latitude in designing future networks.

In this report, In-Stat/MDR will examine this newest DSLAM technology, as well as, an overall DSL and DSLAM technology review, capped by an extensive discussion of the trends in the market, coupled with a worldwide and regional DSLAM forecast, as well as, a five year view of what lies ahead for DSL and the DSLAM market.
