Abstract:
This report takes a deep dive look at the Small and Medium Business (SMB) professional services segment versus the enterprise professional services segment, especially as it relates to IT spending. It is important to understand the similarities and key differences in the size segment within a given vertical. The report is useful for marketing and sales teams, to better understand the IT needs of key verticals and specific size segments.
It is estimated that the professional services vertical will spend roughly $70 billion on information technology this year, and will spend just over $86 billion on IT by 2008. There are clear distinctions between the SMB and enterprise professional services firms. The enterprise professional services segment is expected to spend $31 billion on IT this year, while the SMB segment is expected to spend more than $39 billion on IT such as network hardware, computer hardware, telecommunications, personnel, applications, and hosting.
