Highlights
DPWN remains the clear leader in the German express and parcel delivery market with an estimated market share of 30%. The German express delivery market is dominated by a handful of big players, all with international operations. UPS is second in size in the total German express market with 12.1% market share, although still quite behind DPWN.
The UK express and parcels delivery market remains very competitive and fragmented, with some 17 established operators. The market is headed by DHL UK, with some 15% market share. The combined parcel operations of Royal Mail and Parcelforce follow DHL closely, with an estimated 12.4% market share.
The incumbent postal operator La Poste is the largest player in the country's express and parcel market with 32 % market share. La Poste operates its parcel activity through both Coliposte, in the B2C and C2C sector, and the GeoPost holding company, which in France includes the activities of Chronopost International, TAT Express and Taxicolis.
