Abstract:
 China telecommunications equipment giants Huawei and ZTE have aggressively entered the mobile communications field. Although they have to face Nokia, Nortel and other competitors, the companies have used their technological capabilities and flexible pricing strategies to win 3G equipment orders. Their performance has been especially good in emerging markets. Huawei and ZTE are also aggressively entering the rapidly growing WiMAX industry. Moreover, the two companies are cooperating with international chipmakers. Huawei has partnered with Intel, while ZTE is cooperating with Wavesat, Intel and Fujitsu.
