This study takes a detailed look at enterprises' need to address endpoint security (EPS) against transitory users (e.g., laptops, personal digital assistants [PDAs], and mobile users). It analyzes the evolution of endpoint security, Phoenix Technologies' TrustedCore and TrustConnector platforms, and their position in the endpoint security market. It examines basic input/output systems (BIOSs) that help organizations of all sizes ensure effective endpoint security. This study details the challenges associated with protecting corporate networks from the constantly evolving array of threats associated with remote access, mobile devices, and poor client security practices.
