Abstract:

Stage 1: The Position Doctrine

To face IT insecurity, companies have usually raised an IT security wall around their IT assets. Like armies in past centuries, they apply a position doctrine where armored and defensive solutions protect a static position.

Stage 2: The Position Doctrine

Opening of the networks, the boom in home broadband and mobility connections, and new requirements for partnership have forced the IT stronghold to open itself to the outside world. In such a scenario, companies are trying to position themselves at the key network knots of the IT security policy.

Stage 3: The Minimum Choice Doctrine

Strong regulation pressure is changing natural market trends, leaving no other choice for companies but to be compliant. Because regulation is pervasive, within a few years IT security will have no other choice than to massively apply a unique compliant strategy.
