This study presents findings derived from IDC's end-user surveys of Australian CIOs and IT managers. Specifically, 254 Australian organisations were surveyed as to how IT security is purchased, implemented, and managed as well as what their key security concerns are.

IDC market research predicts continued growth in IT security spending and this study supports that security continues to be a priority for Australian CIOs and IT managers. IDC's end-user research further indicates several markets in the security solutions space that are under-developed, and not very well understood by end users. "This suggests that there are many untapped opportunities for security solution providers in the Australian market," says Patrik Bihammar, market analyst, Security and Infrastructure Management Software, IDC Australia.
